A welterweight showdown pitting former interim champion Carlos Condit against Max Griffin is currently in the works for UFC 264, which takes place July 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Thursday. MMA Junkie initially reported the fight.
Following the toughest run of his career that saw him lose five straight fights, Condit has since bounced back with back-to-back victories inside the octagon. Most recently, Condit took out fellow veteran Matt Brown by unanimous decision when they clashed in January.
Now the 37-year-old welterweight makes his return to action at UFC 264 as he seeks to build on his first win streak since 2012.
Meanwhile, Griffin will attempt to add Condit’s name to his growing resume after finishing his past two fights by KO/TKO.
After nearly ripping off Ramiz Brahimaj’s ear in their fight this past November, Griffin scored a Performance of the Night with his knockout against Song Kenan back in March. Griffin has gone 3-2 overall in his past five fights in the UFC.
Condit vs. Griffin is the latest addition to the UFC 264 fight card, which will be headlined by a trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.
